Social gaming titan, Zynga has expanded its digital casino portfolio with the launch of Hit It Rich! Casino Slots on Facebook. The game was developed by Spooky Cool Labs, which Zynga acquired in June to build social casino titles.
Hit It Rich! Casino Slots is a social environment with a variety of 5-reel free-play slot games. The themes include a creative mixture of licensed slots such as “Beetle Bailey” and “Blondie, original themes such as “What’s Cookin’?” and “Splendor of Rome”, and a number of games based on The Wizard of Oz. Spooky Labs previously released an Oz themed social app and the license went to Zynga.
The Wizard of Oz themed games feature video footage and dialogue clips that lead into Bonus games. Games vary by bet size and number of lines, but each retains common features such as a max bet button, auto-spin capabilities of up to 100 spins and full-screen mode.
Most of the slots can be played directly out of the lobby, without the need for unlocking. Three Bonus symbols on valid lines triggers a bonus round and players gain coins in a Special Challenge feature by scoring higher than friends. Big wins can be posted directly to Facebook within the app.
Players earn experience points relative to the amount wagered on each spin and at each level-up, bonus coins are awarded in the game’s High Roller loyalty system. Users can win exclusive content, enhanced customer service and reduced time between free Bonus coins during the 5-tier rewards program.
Detailed graphics, colourful visual and encapsulating sound effects add to the splendour throughout the games, as players work up their high roller status.
Zynga Hit It Rich! Casino Slots is currently exclusive for Facebook, but are tipped for launch on iOS and Android devices later this year. The San Francisco-based company withdrew plans from real-money online gaming earlier this year and refocused on its social casino offering through Chicago-based Spooky Cool Labs.
“Our commitment to free-to-play, social casino is the reason why we acquired Spooky Cool in Q2, a developer of free-to-play social games,” said former Zynga COO David Ko. “We will continue to evaluate all our priorities against the growing market opportunity in free social gaming including the social casino offerings.
